25Please let me go over and see the beautiful land on the other side of the Jordan River-those beautiful mountains in Lebanon." 26The LORD was angry with me because of you, so he wouldn't listen to me. You may look at the land, but you will never cross the Jordan River. 28Give instructions to Joshua. Encourage and strengthen him, because he will lead these people across [the Jordan River], and he will help them take possession of the land you see." 29So we stayed in the valley near Beth Peor.
